“What does celebrating, promoting, and supporting the open practice of sodomy have to do with helping kids fight childhood cancer?” asked Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute. Hichborn continued:
“We’ve received many requests to look at St Jude Children’s Hospital because of its Catholic origins and strong reputation for helping children. What we found was very unfortunate, but Catholics need to know that their money is not just going to helping kids, but also to spreading homosexual activism and other grave evils.”
The Lepanto report details how St. Jude is active in fighting what it terms “anti-LGBT laws,” sponsoring LGBT pride events, openly promoting homosexuality, and even marching — with children — in LGBT Pride Parades. Lepanto’s report is fully sourced, primarily from St. Jude’s own materials and social media sites.
Also detailed is St. Jude’s partnerships with Planned Parenthood for contraceptive sex-education and the near omnipresent promotion of contraception and condoms on its sites and in its materials.
The Lepanto Institute is calling on St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to focus on saving children and turn away from promoting grossly immoral ideologies. Until that day comes, it will be marked “not safe” for Catholic donations.
