The Obama-Russia Collusion

Why did the Obama administration allow Russian interference in the 2016 presidential elections?
Since Donald Trump won his remarkable victory in the November 2016 presidential elections, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been working hard to investigate him. It is looking for collusion between his campaign and the Russians. For nearly a year, it has found nothing to prove that the Russians helped Trump defeat Hillary Clinton. But Russia did meddle in the United States election—and the Obama administration chose not to stop it.
Recently, cnn interviewed Brett Bruen, a former Obama administration official and former director of Global Engagement on the U.S. National Security Council. Two years before the election, Bruen was sounding the alarm about Russia meddling in U.S. elections. He warned that Russia was likely to use the same fake news and social media tactics in America’s elections that it used when interfering in the 2014 Ukraine elections. This is exactly what happened.
In 2014, Bruen urged the State Department to keep up its task force in order to push back against Russia, saying, “This is not the moment for us to stand down.”
“I was sitting in the situation room saying, this is something that is going to march across Western Europe, it’s something that is going to march over to our shores, and we need to be ready!” Bruen said.
Bruen was addressing the Obama administration in the White House, saying, We need to be ready for an attack!
He even proposed a command center to monitor and counter Russian misinformation, but the State Department rejected the advice coming from its own National Security Council!
The Obama administration didn’t just allow Russians to interfere with the elections—it enabled them to do so!
In Bizpac Review, Kyle Becker wrote: “It was in the heat of the 2016 presidential campaign that Susan Rice proved to be a pivotal figure preventing the United States from countering Russian attempts at election meddling” (March 9; emphasis added throughout).
Becker continued:
At one pivotal point during the presidential campaign, Susan Rice directly told the White House director of cybersecurity Michael Daniel to cease and desist from developing further technological options to thwart apparent Russian attempts to create havoc in the digital elections infrastructure.
Why did the American national security adviser tell American cybersecurity experts to stand down and stop protecting American elections from Russian interference? The article explains that the American cybersecurity agents were told to cease developing technology to thwart the Russians “because they had not been approved by President Obama.”
The information in Becker’s article all comes from Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump, coauthored by David Corn and Michael Isikoff. The book explains why the Obama administration didn’t aggressively resist Russian attempts to meddle in the U.S. election.
Even some of President Obama’s former security officials asked him why he wasn’t more aggressive in counteracting Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential elections. But this is the man who in the 2012 elections bashed candidate Mitt Romney by telling him, “[A] few months ago, when you were asked what’s the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said Russia. … The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War has been over for 20 years.”
According to cnn, by the time the July 2016 party conventions rolled around, there were “more than 80 people at the Kremlin-backed Internet research agency already assigned to meddling in American life.” Multiple sources involved in national security told cnn that they didn’t realize the extent of Russia’s meddling at that time. But they shouldn’t have been caught off guard, because Bruen and others had been warning them all along!
For “whatever reason,” cnn said, “the warning of the looming Russian threat was not shared across the Obama administration.”
What was that reason? Why wasn’tthe Obama administration concerned about this looming threat? Why didn’tthey do anything to stop Russia? It’s because they saw no need to counter Russian interference in the elections—because Hillary Clinton was going to become the next president of the United States! When candidate Trump commented that he might not accept the election results if he thought they were rigged, Democrats in politics and the media heaped scorn on the idea that election results could be tainted.
Politicians and media confidently and consistently pushed the message that Hillary Clinton was going to win. On my November 9 Trumpet Daily Radio Show, I played a montage of major media outlets declaring confidently that Donald Trump was headed for a historic defeat, and Hillary Clinton was about to win a landslide victory!
In their minds, there was no need to aggressively go after Russia when Hillary was in the lead. But now that President Trump has won the election, the fbi can use accusations of Russian collusion to surveil and probe people and organizations tied to Mr. Trump. Now, the Russian threat is no longer a 1980s relic but suddenly an ever-so-serious matter. Suddenly federal agents and everyday liberals are very concerned about the ins and outs of lawful election proceedings—although from the other side of their mouths they simultaneously scorn President Trump and others for saying that people should not be able to vote illegally. Why this change of heart? Because it’s an excuse to continue investigating Mr. Trump in an attempt to find something that will cripple or end his presidency.
As my father brought out in his most recent article, titled “Saving America From the Radical Left—Temporarily,”
The entire Trump-Russia investigation is based on a hoax. Robert Mueller’s team has been searching for evidence of collusion for nearly a year and has found nothing.
But what has been revealed is a tremendous amount of lawbreaking by bureaucrats in intelligence and law enforcement! The previous president filled America’s law enforcement agencies with treasonous agents.
It is important that you understand the drama unfolding in Washington today. America has never seen a government come under as much attack from its own people as the current administration. Our nation is on the verge of collapse. If you want to understand what is happening to America, I highly recommend that you read my father’s article. He brings clarity to events that you need to understand.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez writes lovely tweet honoring McCain, TRIGGERS a whole lotta stupid

Posted at 9:37 am on August 26, 2018 by Sam Janney

We come down on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a lot due to her silly ideas of socialism and ridiculous claims that the GOP wants Medicare For All (don’t make that face, we didn’t write it). But now we’re writing to give the Democratic Socialist a little credit for the lovely tweet she wrote in memory of John McCain.

John McCain’s legacy represents an unparalleled example of human decency and American service.

As an intern, I learned a lot about the power of humanity in government through his deep friendship with Sen. Kennedy.

He meant so much, to so many. My prayers are with his family.

Nancy Pelosi calls on Paul Ryan to do the job she wouldn’t do: remove Confederate statues from Capitol
Posted at 5:02 pm on August 17, 2017 by Brett T.
It’s a very handy thing for President Obama and the Democrats that so many things that have come to a head now (tensions with North Korea, the controversy over Confederate monuments) built up steam very, very gradually when they were in power.

Sure, in 2015 an activist pulled down a Confederate flag that was flying on the State House grounds in South Carolina, but that was just “an act of public art” in advance of Gov. Nikki Haley ordering it taken down anyway.
And in 2016, a crowd of protesters outside the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia compelled the city to remove Mississippi’s flag from a light post … something none of the high-ranking Dems inside the convention hall had thought to do.
So, yes, Democrats could have pushed for the removal of all Confederate flags and monuments, but about as far as they got was to pressure TV Land to stop showing “Dukes of Hazzard” reruns.

Enter House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi then, with a call for Rep. Paul Ryan to remove statues of Confederates from the U.S. Capitol. Hmm, wonder why the previous majority leader left them in place while them Duke boys were being pulled off of basic cable?

The statues have always been reprehensible? Funny she didn’t mention it before, having walked past them for so many years.

It’s nice that they got a comment from Ryan’s office, but didn’t anyone think to ask Pelosi why she didn’t remove the statues?

So what are we supposed to do about these white supremacist college kids and their tiki torches? Hope they follow Byrd’s example and one day repent? Or praise the antifa thugs who go after them with baseball bats by comparing them to World War II soldiers?
Sorry, but Byrd’s portrait should be the first to go.

Obama on Byrd: 'A Senate icon'

By David Jackson, USA TODAY
Updated 2010-07-02 4:52 PM

By Steve Helber, AP
President Obama lauded the late Sen. Robert C. Byrd today for keeping faith with his family, his state of West Virginia and his beloved U.S. Constitution.
"He was a Senate icon, he was a party leader, he was an elder statesman, and he was my friend," Obama told thousands who gathered for Byrd's funeral on the steps of the golden-domed West Virginia statehouse. "That's how I'll remember him."
A variety of speakers traced the eventful 92-year life of a former gas station attendant who became a fiddle-playing, Shakespeare-quoting senator who strongly backed the new health care bill, fiercely opposed the Iraq war and enthusiastically directed many federal projects to his home state.
Elected to the House in 1952 and the Senate in 1958, Byrd was the longest-serving member of Congress in U.S. history.
Obama also alluded to less admirable aspects of Byrd's life, including his youthful membership in the Ku Klux Klan and his early opposition to civil rights laws. The nation's first African-American president said Byrd told him when they met, "there are things I regretted in my youth, you may know that.'"
"And I said, 'none of us are absent some regrets, Senator, that's why we enjoy and seek the grace of God,'" Obama recalled. "And as I reflect on the full sweep of his 92 years, it seems to me that his life bent towards justice."
Other speakers included Vice President Biden; former president Bill Clinton; Gov. Joe Manchin; Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky; Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va.; House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
"The Senate chamber was Robert C. Byrd's cathedral," Biden said. "And West Virginia was his heaven."

The funeral program featured lyrics from John Denver's song Country Roads, which describes West Virginia as "almost Heaven." A military band played song at the end of the service.
Byrd's casket, draped with a West Virginia flag, rested on a table beside the speakers' podium.
Biden, a long-time senator from Delaware, joked that Byrd "stole" money from other states to help his beloved West Virginia, telling the crowd of mourners: "So be nice to the rest of us."
The speakers lauded Byrd's learned knowledge of history, from ancient Rome to the development of the U.S. Constitution, a copy of which he always carried with him. They praised his ornate speaking style, sprinkled with quotes ranging from Thomas Jefferson to the Bible, from Shakespeare to Cicero.
Obama noted that in early days Byrd used his fiddle case as a briefcase, and often played tunes for voters and constituents.
Pelosi reviewed Byrd's three terms in the U.S. House before he joined the U.S. Senate in 1959. Reid, one of Byrd's successors as top Senate Democrat, praised Byrd's thirst for knowledge, and how he taught him to also carry a copy of the U.S. Constitution in his pocket.
"He never thought he'd done enough for West Virginia," Reid said. "No one has meant more to a state than Robert Byrd meant to West Virginia."
Ex-president Clinton also referenced Byrd's past membership in the KKK, quickly adding: "Then he spent the rest of his life making it up."
Rockefeller, his West Virginia colleague, said: "Sen. Byrd, thank you. We will not forget you."
